{Microwave Me, Please}

I want it, NOW!!

This is my mindset when I approach EVERYTHING in my life. For me, there is no waiting, being patient or sitting back to watch what unfolds -  and quite frankly, that's my problem!! Why is it a problem you may ask? Well if you're asking this question then you may suffer from, 'The Microwave Mentality'. Yes, there is such a syndrome, but fortunately there is a cure! We'll talk about the cure on another post, but first off, lets get to the main issue...why settle for a microwave?

Everyone knows what a microwave does, right? Here are some examples, just in case you don't: "Microwave ovens heat foods quickly", "useful for rapid heating", and "heating may cut the overall time needed"...get the picture? I want things to happen in my life, NOW! Forget the process that comes with, purging, pruning, and complete healing - just give me the end result!

Looking over the past six years of my life I have noticed that during a certain time of the year, typically April thru May, 'stuff' in my life gets shaken up. Things could be going great, or at least in my mind, and once April rolls around, here comes the earthquake - a life altering earthquake. These earthquakes measure out to be about 10 on the Richter Magnitude Scale, so its pretty intense and I'm always left with a heart that is broken and shattered, but pliable.

The fact is that the earthquake sets the stage for God to do an amazing work in me, and at first I'm in total compliance with him. I do all the things that I know to do, which is to lean on him, but the moment I feel like I'm able to open my eyes without any tears forming, I lean less. The days pass and I feel a little better, I lean less. The weeks pass and I'm smiling again, I lean less. The months go by and I'm my normal self again, I'm standing upright! This is my idea of a "quickly, rapid, cut the overall time" process for my healing, but what I always fail to realize is that even though I may feel like I am getting better, there are still issues that need to be dealt with in the core of me -  the root issue. But all I see is that the pain is gone and that's all that I want to leave. Who wants to live each day in pain? Clearly, not me! The pain leaves and I go back to life as usual.

Whats funny is that while reading up on microwaves, I found that the most common misconception is that microwave ovens cook food "from the inside out", meaning from the center of the entire mass of food outwards. Wow! Have you ever noticed when you microwave food the outside is cooked, but the core is still undone, so you have to pop it back in again and again, until cooked? Yes, again! The same process/situation again... HA! I have to laugh because I've been choosing the microwave type of healing instead of the hot oven, which may take longer and hence have been going through the same situation over and over, year after year, because I refuse to go through the complete healing process!

Its time to allow the true living God to work in me, from the inside out!

No more walking around with an exterior that looks good and appears to have it all together, but with an inside that is raw and in need of some serious healing. No more microwaves! I want the real deal. The complete healing. The healing that comes with time and pain, but will last forever!!

deep breath. I'm ready...

Many blessings everyone,

K.

next post...the process!

{im back}

its been a long time, over a year to be exact, since i've blogged. whats been going on in this life of mine you may ask?  A LOT! I first must say that i am truly blessed by a God who is all powerful and knowing. He knows all my needs, wants and cares. He's never failing...answering every single time! Thank you, Father!

i am still enjoying my job at GSU and i'm in the process of praying for whats the next move, whether its grad school, getting more involved in youth ministry or whatever the unknown may hold.

i've joined a new church called FreeChapel and a new coed singles small group. I am soooo excited about this small group because ive been praying for over 3 years to meet christian ladies that i can walk with. I truly believe with all my heart the Lord is wanting me to develop these relationships with this bunch of ladies. Its so important to have friends, Christian friends at that, because they will help you stay grounded in the things of God and help you stay encouraged. I need that in this season of my life.

well its getting dark out here and the mosquitos are eating me alive!!! I just wanted to say that i am back and i cannot wait to share my blessings, revelations, trials, and joys with you all! there is more to come... more pics, new adventures and stories!

many blessings my loves!
